We offer an accommodation of 12 apartments which are housed in four separate buildings, thus offering you privacy. The apartments are surrounded by trees, plants and various herbs that typically grow in Crete.

Lassithi is the easternmost region of Crete. It is one of the most beautiful holiday destinations in Crete, as it offers many opportunities for relaxing, sightseeing and many more. Its capital is Agios Nikolaos, a very beautiful and picturesque village, with many taverns for eating local food and many sandy beaches for swimming. Lassithi is surrounded by archaeological sights and nice beaches and is also famous for its big Vai forest, which is the biggest palm forest in Europe. There, you can enjoy a swim in the homonymous beach while enjoying the beautiful exotic surroundings of the forest.

Lassithi is a very diverse area with mountain ranges spreading around it amphitheatrically and small villages on the hillslopes. In this region of Crete, you can enjoy the beautiful traditional architecture of the inhabited areas but also explore the unspoiled environment that is all around the area. In the villages, you can also attend many cultural events and activities which range according to the season.

On the eastern side of the region, you will find the famous islet of Spinalonga, the former leper colony with its rich history. Other worthwhile sights include Gournia and Petras where you can see old remains of the Minoan culture. Moreover, one of the most worthwhile experiences in Crete is the view to Lassithi plateau which allows you to admire the endless horizon. You can explore the area by car and also visit the island of Chrissi with a boat from Ierapetra.

For nature lovers, Lassithi offers a wide range of opportunities. You can enjoy trekking in the various deep gorges that are to be found around the area of Lassithi. You can walk down the Gorge of the Dead in Kato Zakros or visit the Richtis Gorge on the northern side between Agios Nikolaos and Sitia. The gorge of the Dead features a lot of caves which look like tombs and a lot of sights along the way including the village of Ano Zakros and Zakros Palace. The Trekking time is about 2 hours until you reach the beautiful seaside village of Kato Zakros.

The Richtis Gorge is also one of the top picks of visitors. Trekking time is estimated around 3-4 hours and difference in height between the starting point of Exo Mouliana and the beach is about 350 metres. As the route unfolds, you will find yourself between the river and the trees and this breathtaking landscape in the heart of Lassithi. The route ends at Richtis beach, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim .

The island is uninhabited but has an interesting history because it was the seat of the purple dye production factory for royal garments which was very valuable in Ancient Years. Moreover, the untouched beaches and unspoilt nature of the island as well the ancient debris that are found all across the island make it an excellent pick for exotic holidays.

It would also be worth your time if you visited the Minoan Villa dating back to the Minoan Ages. The Villa is very impressive to the date while it is considered to be a miniature of the Minoan Palace. Certain finds have proved that the Villa was also used for religious purposes. It is situated in the west of Makry Gialos and has been excavated in 1973 and 1977. It is certainly a top pick for all those who are interested in ancient history. In Katovigli, you will also find the remains of the ancient Roman Villa with the rich mosaic floor and the underground heating system. Kapsa Monastery (Monastery of Agios Ioannis Kapsas) is situated east of Makry Gialos and just 7 km away. It is mostly supported that Kapsa Monastery was built around the 15th century and it was later used as a refugee during the Second World War. The story of the Monastery suggests that the man who lived there, namely Ioannis Gerodoyiannis, renovated the monastery and dedicated his life to Christian love after his daughter has been burnt in a fire. Later, many pilgrims would go there to seek his healing hands. The monastery and the nearby cave where the Saint lived have acquired special meaning for the area while the monastery is built on a mountain slope, offering sea view.

Crete is also famous for its many nice and picturesque villages. Pefki, Sitia, Agios Nikolaos and Ierapetra are only a few to choose from.

Sitia offers the amazing pine tree of Vai, the biggest pine tree in Europe.

Near Agios Nikolaos, you can also visit the famous Spinalonga island. In Ierapetra you can visit the Kule fortress and the artificial lake of Bramiana.

Crete offers an incredible variety of beaches to choose from. You will find a lot of interesting swimming spots around Makry Gialos, this beautiful part of southeastern Crete.

The Makry Gialos beach which is a top pick for visitors, is a sandy beach with crystal clear waters. It is 23 km away from Ierapetra and 58 km away from Agios Nikolaos. The beach is 1 km long and is organized with sunbeds and umbrellas, so that you can enjoy the sun and the water all day long. The water is shallow and warm and there is also natural shading provided by the tamarisk trees. You can shortly visit the remains of the Minoan villa while you are on the area.

Katovigli beach is the natural continuance of Makry Gialos and is also sandy with shallow crystal waters. There, you will find sports facilities and free umbrellas for the whole family. You can also spend some time to visit the Roman villa which is nearby if you are interested in ancient history.

Kalamokanias beach is an isolated and unorganized beach on the west side of Makry Gialos beach. It has beautiful coarse sand and here, visitors can enjoy the sea and the sun as well as the serenity of the place surrounded by tamarisk trees. Also, our complex of apartments and studios is located at a very close distance from Kalamokanias beach.

Finally, there are a lot of amazing beaches to visit in the area. Elounda beach is just 11 km away from Agios Nikolaos and quite unspoiled with all required facilities. Pahia Ammos, as the name suggests in Greek, is a beach with thick sand at a 20 km distance from Agios Nikolaos. The beach surrounds olive trees around it.

If you find yourself near Sitia , you can also enjoy a swim in Sitia beach which is at a 65 km distance from Agios Nikolaos and can assist visitors with various services due to its proximity to the city. Istron Bay is one of the many beaches along the coastline from Agios Nikolaos to Mohlos, where you can enjoy the clear water and the amazing landscape. This beach features white sand and crystal clear waters, surrounded by green slopes. Lassithi’s beaches are very family-friendly with shallow waters and natural shading by trees.

Some beaches are also very warm and with facilities in the nearby areas while others are remote and serene, so you can always choose what you would like to do.
